     Marine Hymn

From the Halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli: We will fight our country's battles in the air, on land and sea; First to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean; We are proud to claim the title of UNITED STATES MARINES.

Our flag's unfurled to every breeze from dawn to setting sun; We fought in every clime and place where we could take a gun; In snow of far northern lands and sunny tropic scenes; You will find us always on the job, the UNITED STATES MARINES.

Here's health to you and to our Corps which we are proud to serve; In many a strife we've fought for life and never lost our nerve; If Army and Navy ever look on heaven's scenes; They will find the streets are guarded by the UNITED STATES MARINES.

History of the Tom Grosvenor Memorial

The original 13 Marine's met on Saturday November 10, 1983,  at Hoff's Kitchen on Whitney St. in Grayslake, IL. The breakfast was S.O.S., eggs, and coffee. We all brought a toy for the Toys for Tots drive.

It all started in 1970 when my brother Tom and I would call each other to wish a "happy birthday" on the Marine Corps Birthday, a tradition we carried out every year. In 1982 Tom said we should have a breakfast of S.O.S. and eggs to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday. Bob and Dona Hoff said they would host the event.

Tom Grosvenor died in March 2001 and it was requested by Marine's that attended his memorial that we change the name to "Tom Grosvenor Memorial Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast" for Toys for Tots.
